UFC 275: Teixeira vs. Prochazka: Cards, Preview, Time and Odds
UFC 275 is going to take place on June 12, 2022 at the Singapore Indoor Arena in Kallang, Singapore. The main event of this UFC PPV card is the World Light heavyweight Championship bout between Current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Glover Teixeira and No 2 Contender Jiri Prochazka. The Co- Main Event is the also the Championship title bout, where UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko will defend her Flyweight Strap against the No 4th ranked Taila Santos. The most exciting fight on this card is the rematch of the winner of FOTY (Fight of the year) award in 2020, the straw weight bout between two former UFC champions Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk. UFC is coming back to Singapore after almost 3 years; it will be the fifth UFC Show in Singapore and First UFC PPV event there. The main card of UFC 275 will start at 10 p.m. E.T and people can watch it on ESPN+ PPV.
Main Event:
Glover Teixeira became the UFC Light heavyweight Champion last summer when he beat Jan Blachowicz at UFC 267. He is the oldest fighter to become the UFC Champion at the age of 42. Glover is going to defend his title for the first time against Jiri Prochazka this weekend. Jiri Prochazka is ranked no 2 in the division right now, he has only 2 fights in the UFC and now he is going to fight for the UFC strap. Jiri is an incredible character in MMA world right now; in his debut, he knocked out a former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir in 2nd round. In his next fight he knocked out another title challenger Dominic Reyes with devastating spinning elbow and become a superstar overnight.
It’s a very fascinating matchup between these two fighters; this fight will probably end within first two rounds. Jiri has unorthodox striking and power to knock out Glover; while Glover has an experience and one of the best grappling in this division and if this fight hit the ground, Glover can submit Jiri within seconds.
Co-Main Event:
In a Co-Main Event, the most dominant Champion Valentina Shevchenko will face Taila Santos in the title bout. Valentina is looking to defend her flyweight title for the 7th time, she has been running through all the challengers she faced and made it look so effortless. Taila Santos is on a 4 fight winning streak, she is no 4 ranked fighters in the division and has an impressive resume with a lot of finishes (10 knockouts, and 3 submissions). Shevchenko is obviously favorite in this fight, but Santos has everything in her arsenal to upset the most dominant champion.
Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk are going to fight in the rematch, the first time they fought was at UFC 248 and it was the best female fight in the history of the sport. In the first fight, Weili won the very close split decision, but a lot of people believed that Joanna won that fight because it was very close and the action was back and forth. Weili vs. Joanna 2 has high stake as the winner of this fight will challenge UFC Strawweight Champion Carla Esparza for the title at the end of 2022.
