UFC LONDON

UFC Fight Night London (also known as UFC Fight Night 204) just around the corner, going to take place in O2 Arena London, England this Saturday. There are lots of buzz and excitement about this fight night because UFC returns to England after 3 long years. UFC Fight Night: Woodley vs. Edwards supposed to happen in England 2 years ago, but it got cancelled and later on Fight Night: Brunson vs. Till also replaced to Vegas from London in 2021. This definitely is the perfect time for UFC to return to England with this stellar card featuring Tom Aspinall and Alexander Volkov in a heavyweight bout as a main event. There are a lot of young prospects from England who are competing in this card; Arnold Allen, Jack Shore and the man with all hype Paddy “the baddy” Pimblett are fighting this weekend.

Main Event:

The main event of UFC London is the heavyweight bout between former Bellator Heavyweight Champion Alexander Volkov and young dynamic English fighter Tom Aspinall, originally Shamil Abdurakhimov was supposed to Fight Aspinall, but he pulled out and Volkov accepted this fight with Tom. Alexander Volkov is a veteran of the game he has 11 fights in the UFC already; he is ranked no 6 in the division right now. Volkov has competed against most of the top guys in the division already and has some notable wins over the liking of Febricio Werdum (Former UFC Heavyweight Champion), Stefan Struve, Walt Haris and Alistair Overeem. Tom Aspinall is ranked no 11 in the division; he is really what we call the new generation of heavyweights due to his distinctive and dynamic fighting style. Tom Aspinall is on 4 UFC fight winning streaks; he finished all of his 4 opponents and only went to 2nd round once. Tom Aspinall has all the potential to become the UFC Champion and there are a lot of expectations from him, and this fight is his real challenge in the UFC and will answer a lot of questions regarding Tom’s Future.

Co-Main Event

In the co-main event of this card, Arnold Allen is set to take on Dan Hooker in a featherweight bout. Allen Arnold is ranked no 7 in the featherweight division, while Dan Hooker is coming back to featherweight after his lightweight journey. Allen is a prospect of England with 8 fight winning streak in the UFC, and he has won over the legend Gilbert Melendez (Former WEC and Strikeforce Lightweight Champion), Sodiq Yusuff and Nik Lentz. Dan Hooker will be the hardest challenge for Allen till this date; Hooker has 18 fights in the UFC and he competed in both featherweight and lightweight division and fought all the top fighters in both weights. Hooker left 145 lbs. Division and jumped to 155 lbs. In 2017 and won 7 fights there, but now he is coming back to Featherweight to rejuvenate his career.

Other Fights on this Card:

There are a lot of exciting matchups and prospects on this Card; Ilia Topuria (undefeated young prospect) is fighting against Jai Herbert in Lightweight bout, this should be a fun fight. Jack Shore (another undefeated prospect) is also competing this Saturday against Timur Valiev in a bantamweight bout; this is the most competitive fight in the whole card. Gunnar Nelson is making his comeback this fight night after 2 years; he is going to fight against Takashi Sato in a welterweight bout. Paul Craig (ranked 11th in light-heavyweight) will face Nikita Krylov (ranked 9th in light-heavyweight), and Molly McCann will take on Luana Carolina in women’s flyweight bout.

Most Hyped Fighter:

All these fights are incredible, but people will tune in to watch Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett, he is the most highly touted prospect in the UFC right now. Paddy has all the hype around him; he is going to fight against Rodrigo Vargas in a lightweight bout. Paddy Pimblett debuted in UFC last September where he knocked out Luigi Vendramini, but this time he is fighting in London. If Paddy gets his hand raised on coming Saturday, he will become a global superstar and one of the biggest draws in the UFC.
