UFC London: Blaydes vs. Aspinall: Card, Preview, Prospects, Time and Odds
UFC London is set to take place tonight in O2 Arena in Peninsula Square, London. This is the second time the UFC has come to the London in 2022, the UFC held a very successful show in this same Arena in March. One half of the main event, Tom Aspinall headlined the show back in March against Alexander Volkov and this time he is going to face Curtis Blaydes in the main event again.
There will be total 13 fights on this card, and all the 26 fighters made weight on the scale yesterday. The Preliminary card of this fight night will start at special time of 12 PM ET and 9 AM PT, and the main event will start at 3 PM ET and 12 PM PT.
Main Event:
Curtis Blaydes (number 4th ranked) is going to compete against Tom Aspinall (number 6th ranked) in a heavyweight bout: this is great matchmaking by the UFC. Tom Aspinall is on a 5 fight winning streak in the UFC; he finishes all his 5 opponents in less than 2 rounds. He will enter into the top 5 if he beat Blaydes tonight, Blaydes is on a 2 fight winning streak and he is looking to beat Aspinall and claim his title shot sooner than later. This fight will be the toughest challenge for Aspinall as Blaydes is a very experienced fighter and have a wrestling background, Nevertheless, this fight will be very fun and entertaining to watch.
In the co-main event, Jack Hermansson (number 8th ranked fighter) will face unranked opponent Chris Curtis in a middleweight bout. Chris Curtis is a replacement for Darren Till who got injured during the training camp and pulled out of this duel with Hermansson.
This main card will also feature the fan favorite Paddy Pimblett who is going to fight Jordan Leavitt in a lightweight bout. This will be the 3rd fight of Paddy in UFC, he is the most highly touted prospect coming from England and he is already a star in Europe. Tonight he is looking to beat Leavitt in front of his home crowd and establish his place in the UFC.
Another fan favorite British fighter Molly McCann will fight Hannah Goldy in a Women flyweight bout. Last time Molly fights in this Arena she knocked out Luana Caroline with the vicious spinning elbow back in March, people are expecting to see another impressive finish from this fight.
Former light heavyweight title challenger Alexander Gustafsson is returning back to the octagon against Nikita Krylov in a light heavyweight bout, fans are excited to see him back in action tonight.
In another light heavyweight bout, the number 8th ranked Paul Craig will fight Volkan Oezdemir who is ranked 9th in the division. This is a very exciting matchup as Paul is an elite Grappler while Oezdemir is an accomplished striker and fans can expect a spectacular finish from this fight.
Prospect to watch out:
Mohammed Mokaev is the hottest prospect coming from England; he debuted in March in this same arena and finished the fight in the very first round. Mokaev is only 21 years old, he is a very talented fighter who competes in flyweight division, and he has 7 wins and zero losses in his professional MMA record. Mokaev will be the Champion one day or at least he will be the title challenger in this division.
