UFC Fight Night: Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot wrapped up in very excited fashion; this fight card delivered big time. The fights were very entertaining and competitive, particularly the main event was a barn burner and lived up to its hype. There were 6 finishes and 6 decisions in this fight card, and the main event was named as the “fight of the night”.

Main Card

In the main event, Mateusz Gamrot beat Arman Tsarukyan via unanimous decision in very competitive and high paced fight. Although it is unanimous decision, but the fight was very close and it could have gone either way. Both guys showed their elite wrestling, grappling and scrambling skills; Arman was a little bit more effective on the feat while Gamrot was winning slightly in grappling and wrestling exchanges. Arman won first two rounds convincingly, he was constantly attacking the Gamrot with a powerful body and leg kicks. In last three rounds Gamrot took Tsarukyan to the ground multiple times and able to control him for a while, which definitely helped him win all these rounds on judges score card. This fight was very close and hard to judge, MMA fans are divided regarding the outcome of the fight.

Mateusz Gamrot came into this fight as number 12th ranked fighter; he will probably jump to top 10 next week. In his post-fight interview, Gamrot called out Justin Gaethje next who is ranked 3 in the lightweight division.

In the Co-Main event, Shavkat Rakhmonov submits Neil Magny in the last 5 seconds of the 2nd round and extended his MMA record to 16–0. Shavkat Rakhmonov is the phenomenal fighter and the hottest prospect in this division; he has finished all 16 of his opponents. Rakhmonov controlled Magny on the ground in 1st and 2nd round, and in the last 10 seconds he went for a guillotine and got the tap from Magny. Shavkat is the very well rounded fighter, he will be a problem for all the top 10 guys in the division, Many fans believe that he will be Champion in next 24 months. In his post-fight interview, he called the Stephen “The Wonderboy” Thompson, who is ranked # 7th in the welterweight division.

Josh Parisians get the most impressive comeback victory of the night; he got hurt badly by Alan Baudot at the start of the first round, but he survived that and gets the takedown at the end of the round and finished strongly. In 2nd round, he took down Baudot and starts throwing heavy ground and pound until referee stepped in and stopped the fight.

Thiago Moises submits Christos Giagos via rear naked choke in three minutes of the very first round. Moises showed his high quality BJJ skills and get to the back of Giagos smoothly; this is the first win of Moises in his last 3 fights.

Umar Nurmagomedov lived up to his hype and dominates the very tough Nate Maness; Umar didn’t give any chance to Nate and controlled him on the ground impressively. Along with his elite grappling, Umar showed his high level striking and kicking game tonight. Umar got the unanimous decision with one judge giving him two 10–8 rounds because of his pure domination. Umar proved why he is the most highly touted prospect in this division; in his post-fight interview he asked for ranked opponent in his next fight.

In a Middleweight bout, Chris Curtis showed his impeccable takedown defense and stuffed 20 takedown attempts from Rodolfo Vieira. Chris Curtis invested heavily in body shots that slowed down Vieira, Curtis gets the unanimous decision victory with his impressive performance.

Preliminary Card

In the light heavyweight bout, Carlos Ulberg finished Tafon Nchukwi impressively with cheeky left hook and got the TKO win in the first round.

Shayilan Neurdanbieke got the unanimous decision victory against TJ Brown in a very close fight.

Sergey Morozov came back after getting hurt in the first round by Raulian Paiva and finished 2nd and 3rd round very strong; he gets the victory by unanimous decision.

Cody Durden gets the TKO victory against J.P Buys in the very first round, it was flyweight bout.

In Bantamweight bout, Young fighter Mario Bautista submits the veteran Brian Kelleher via rear naked choke in the very first round.

In the first fight of Prelims of the fight night, Vanessa Demopoulos defeated Jinh Yu Frey via split decision in a very close fight.
